Nothing happens when I push any of the buttons on the remote even after putting in a new battery

This Golf Trolley Remote Control arrived safely and on testing was found to function as normal but the battery cable was found to be badly damaged.

After talking to the customer, it was decided to replace the damaged cable, this was done and the remote then tested over a 3 day period at random intervals with no issues being found.
