Customer's Fault Description
Remote does not power up when batteries are inserted.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote arrived safely and on inspection was found to be missing its battery cover, this cannot be replaced as spares are not available.

On testing the remote was dead.

When opened there was corrosion in the print caused by a battery leak.  The print was reworked and the terminals cleaned. This restored full functionality.
