Customer's Fault Description
Remote not working at all. I suspect battery leak corrosion.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote arrived safely and on testing the top button was non responsive.

On opening there was contamination over the PCB from a battery leak.  The PCB was cleared of all contaminants and then replacement conductive pads were glued under each button which restored full functionality. 

A terminal pair was also replaced due to rusted damage.
