Customer's Fault Description
The remote has started consuming batteries very fast with new ones lasting only a few days. Also, the battery connector is now split but still works and probably should be replaced.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Gazco gas fire remote control arrived safely and on testing was found to have a faulty voltage regulator.  A replacement regulator was fitted and then the battery cable replaced.  Full functionality was restored.
