Totally inoperative - said to be damage caused by leaky battery

This Gas fire remote controller arrived safely and on inspection was found to have non functioning buttons.  Unfortunately this was confirmed to be from a battery leak, once there particular remotes suffer a battery leak a repair is not possible as it destroys the PCB conductivity for the buttons which are in built to the PCB.
