Customer's Fault Description
The remote is not sending a signal to the brake roller tester. LCD is also not working but this is not as important, if it can be repair great but not worried if not.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Brake Roller Tester remote arrived safely and on inspection was found to have a damaged screen and missing / damaged buttons. The remote was dead.
On opening the oscillator was detached from the PCB and the bare ended wires were loose inside the case.
The oscillator was replaced and soldered correctly. This did restore initial startup power but unfortunately the remote would die within a few seconds. A limited component test was carried out but sadly the issue could not be pinpointed (there is a severe lack of service information on these items). It is thought that the loose bare ended wires could have shorted out to any part of the PCB causing the issue.
This item was disposed of as per our sites terms, 19 Aug 2025
