Customer's Fault Description
REMOTE IS COMPLETELY DEAD, DESPITE OPERATING FULLY ONLY A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. NEW BATTERIES HAVE NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. NO EVIDENCE OF CORRODED BATTERIES OR BATTERY COMPARTMENT AND BATTERIES APPEAR TO MAKE GOOD CONTACT WITH THE ELECTRODES.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Teac remote arrived safely and on testing was found to be dead.

This was due to the negative terminal pair being contamination (see image).  This was causing and intermittent connection to the battery.  The terminals were etched clean which restored full functionality.
