Customer's Fault Description
Remote control doesn’t switch on. Hasn’t worked since March (when it was last cold). I’ve changed the battery. It did momentarily click on the other day whilst fiddling with it (and allowed me to test that the fireplace works - so that’s good). So problem definitely is the remote control.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This fireplace controller arrived safely and on inspection was missing its battery cover (this cannot be replaced as spares are not available)
On adding a power source the remote was confirmed to be dead. This was found to be due to a faulty battery cable. A replacement battery cable was fitted which restored full functionality.
