Remote does not seem to be communicating with fire.

This fireplace controller arrived safely and on testing was found to be functioning as per normal operation.  An RF signal was found to be emitted.  

The control was opened to check for defects but no fault could be replicated.  It is possible that the issue is with the receiver itself.
