Klarstein ceiling extrator fan Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : tryed putting new battery in think tryed putting in the wrong way then could"nt get it out, when i did then put it in the right way nothing works? need fixing as cant use now above cooker so steam may cause mold!! can you help please, was new 18months ago brought off ebay think its germany company?
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This ceiling fan / extractor fan remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead. This was due to a bent battery terminal (from when the battery was inserted incorrectly). The terminal was reformed correctly which restored functionality but then it was found that the remote would transmit without a button being pressed.
This was due to contamination over the button contacts (looked like someone had used a pencil or something similar on the contacts) The contamination was cleaned up and normal functionality was then restored.
A Duracell battery has also been supplied on the remotes return
