MERTIK MAXITROL G6R-R4AM and G6R-H4S Remote Repair Details
Manufacturer : MERTIK MAXITROL
Model : G6R-R4AM and G6R-H4S
Customers Fault Description : G6R-R4AM stopped responding. Found one of batteries had corroded. Cleaned contact and replaced batteries. Worked well for a week. It then suddenly started making a buzzing tone. This is a constant tone when batteries are installed and the device is unresponsive.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This remote and receiver arrived safely and on inspection the receiver was confirmed to have erratic power / buzzing and noe response from the remote button press.
This receiver normally buzzes on occasion when power is first applied and also can when the power is lowered. This led to problems with the battery block, this was replaced which restored normal functionality. There was also contamination over various pins of one of the ICs (see image).. This was cleaned up.
The receiver was then tested over a 3 day period with no further issues being present. Please note that the customer is requested to ensure that new batteries are inserted as any previously inserted batteries may be either drained or damaged from the battery block / IC short. We recommend only quality batteries to minimize the possibility of a further battery leak (Duracell or Energizer)
