Customer's Fault Description
Remote was dropped, and although the confirmation light comes on when buttons are pressed the AV unit does not receive a signal and doesn't do anything.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Yamaha remote arrived safely and on testing was found to be transmitting but some buttons were poor in response.
On opening there was signs of button decomposition / contamination over the effected buttons (see image). This was cleaned up which restored normal button repsonse.
There was also some poor solder joints around the main IC, these were resoldered.
