Customer's Fault Description
Screen fails to light up with replacement batteries, no response from window when remote is operated.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Velux remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead.
When opened the usual issue whereby a capacitor breaks away from the board was found. This capacitor was re-soldered firmly back into place but the control remained dead.
Voltage check revealed that the usual voltages were present throughout the PCB. It was eventually concluded that the issue lay with the main IC which sadly isn't available as a spare, making a repair not possible.
These controls do occasionally appear on ebay which is probably the best place to locate a replacement.
