Lights up, but no buttons working. Also split in outer cable sheath.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This chair controller arrived safely and on inspection was confirmed to have a splice in the cable at the remote end.  The cable was cut back by an inch to bypass the break and refitted.

Replacement conductive button caps were also fitted on the buttons due to wear.
