The button do not function properly

This remote arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was missing (this cannt be replaced as spares are not available)
On adding batteries an RF signal was found to be present on each button press.
This means that it could be that the remote needs to be paired with the TV, this is something that we cannot do here as it needs to be in the vacinity of the TV that it is being paired with.
