PDT KF04-433RC Remote Repair Details
This remote arrived and on inspection was missing its fixing screw.
On testing the control was found to have dead batteries. After talking with the customer it was found that the remote was draining batteries. Also the bottom button was not responding.
The battery housing was removed and a couple of issues were found, the first was there was two solder "lump" in the PCB terminal which could have been shorting the terminals and the other issue was a corrosion spot on the bottom button entry point on the battery side.
The solder spots were removed and the print reworked and insulated, a print mod was carried out on the top side of the PCB as well which restored functionality to the bottom button.
The control was then fitted with new Duracell batteries and tested over a 3 day period and no drain was then found. The batteries will be left fitted on return for the customer. A fixing screw was also fitted.
