Quad Remote Repair Details
Manufacturer : Quad
Customers Fault Description : Does not appear to do anything, even with brand new batteries. I have another remote and this operates the Quad 99 CDP fine, along with the separate 99 Pre-amp. So it is not the CDP at fault. Note: this is the earlier handset supplier with the older version of the Quad 99 CDP (not the later CDP2)
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This Quad 99 CDP(1) remote control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead.
This was found to be due to a faulty IR LED. A replacement LED was fitted which restored full functionality (see testing video).
