PDT (KF04-433RC) Remote Repair Details
These two remotes arrived safely and on inspection the first control Ser No 528815 was found to be transmitting as per normal operation. The customers fault description states that the receiver acknowledges the remotes signal meaning that it is most likely that the control needs "pairing" with the receiver again, please check the manual for your receiver on how to do this. This has been classed as no fault found and there is no charge for this one.
The second control Ser No 528771 was confirmed to be dead when the two cr2016 batteries were inserted. This was found to be due to corrosion around the main IC (probably from its wash). The control was given an alcohol bath to remove all contaminants and the solder re-flowed around the IC which restored full functionality (see testing video). Please note that the signal is not present on this remote but it may be possible that it requires pairing with the receiver as per the first remote, this is something we cannot do remotely as it can only be done in the vicinity of the receiver. I have left batteries in the repaired remote so test it straight away and if the receiver doesn't respond then please pair the control with the receiver.
