Mertik Maxitrol G30-ZRRS - receiver doesnt respond Remote Repair Details
This fireplace handset and receiver arrived and was very intermittent in functionality, the remote was tested and found to be working but the receiver was at fault.
First inspection showed that there had been some switch cleaner sprayed into the receiver which had to be cleaned off before the original fault could be remedied.
The PCB was given an alcohol bath and then dried out overnight. Once dried the fault was found to be the 2 crystals and the U.S. receiver.
These were replaced and full functionality was restored (See )
It is important to note that when replacing the batteries in the receiver the customer is advised to only use quality batteries such as Duracel as many of the cheaper batteries are known to leak in these items over time.
