Customer's Fault Description
Hadn't used the remote for some time as my CD player had quit.
Replaced CD and tried to use the remote to control the amp, but unit didn't function. Renewed battery's and pressed the reset button inside battery compartment without success.
This HI-Fi remote was dropped off in person by the customer and was found to be totally dead as stated by the customer.
Upon opening the remote the problem was instantly apparent. There was some sort of liquid spilleage found on both the PCB and all over the rubber key pad. Luckily it didnt appear to be a sugary / corrosive liquid as there were no signs of print or component corrosion.
The PCB was given an alcohol bath and the keypad was washed and full functionality was restored (see testing video)
