DM50 - failed completely
Customer's Fault Description
The unit has failed completely. I've tried replacing the batteries and have also tried it with a different Canton DM50 soundbase to make sure it's the remote that's the problem and not the soundbase unit itself.
This remote arrived safely and was found to be dead as per the customers description.
Upon dissasembling the remote another test was done by powering up the PCB, this did bring the remote back to life temporarily but didnt last long and was intermittent.
This led to the conclusion that there was a bad solder joint on the board, no visible bad joints were noticed so a blanket resolder of all key components was carried out. Full functionality was restored (See )
