Customer's Fault Description
BATTERIES LEFT IN REMOTE AND HAS CORRODED THE BLACK WIRING.
This Mertik remote arrived safely and the problem was visually apparent when opening the battery compartment. The negative lead from the pp9 clip had corroded off as the customer had stated.
The remedy was to replace the whole battery lead, this was done and full functionality was restored (See testing video)
