Customer's Fault Description
After being dropped the unit no longer activates the media player, the media player is operational by manually pressing the buttons on the player itself.
This remote arrived safely and on first inspection there were signs of previously being opened, these signs included battery terminals not fitted in the case correctly as well as marks down each side of the remote cause by attempted prying of the remote.
Upon opening the remote there was a component missing, probably detached when the remote was dropped. The component was the crystal oscillator. This had to be replaced a few times to ascertain the correct value.
Full functionality was finally restored (see testing video)
