Customer's Fault Description
Totally Dead, no functions
This Sony remote arrived safely and was found to be coming apart and had remnants of sellotape that was used to hold it together in the past.
The handset was totally dead. Upon looking inside the remote one problem became apparent. The negative terminal was loose, signs of an attempted repair was present. This terminal was repaired and the remote retested.
The dead fault was still present, after a full component check the IR led was found to be reading erroneously. This was replaced and the remote was then found to be functioning normally. (See testing Video)
