Lights up with off signal and time on no buttons work.

 

This remote arrived well packaged and upon testing was found to show 'of' on the display as well as the time, however the time was ramping up all the time.  This could be temporarily stopped by holding down one of the buttons but continued as soon as the buttons were released.

Underneath the display is the main processor, when shining a light under this display a contamination can be seen around a few of the pins.  This was tried to be cleaned off by an alcohol swab but sadly it hasn't fixed the fault.

The processor was cleaned of all it spillage which fixed the main problem but another problem was noticed upon completion.  A fixing rod that holds the pcb in proper position was missing causing irratic button functionality, this was fixed and full functionality was restored.

 

Also the back battery cover was replaced (the original didn't fit properly due to some signs of heat damage!)
