Bose RC18T1-40 - spilled water on remote and not now working Remote Repair Details
This Bose handset arrived safely and upon opening there was signs of some spileage on the PCB as per the customers fault description.
The most notable was come contamination on the copper key pads that were causing some buttons to short. There was also on key pad that had early signs of corrosion. Also the pcb lacquer had signs that the water had entered the board (see the discoloration of the board in the images below - the 2 shades of green)
This was all cleaned up by giving the PCB an alcohol bath. The remote is sending out an RF signal but a testing video cannot be created. The customer is to test the handset fully upon arrival.
