There is no operation when the buttons are pressed even with new batteries.

 

This Meridian hifi remote control arrived safely with batteries included.  First testing showed that the remote was very intermittently transmitting.

Upon opening the reason became clear, there was signs of a battery leakage internally and on the terminals.  This leakage was cleaned up and the terminal was recoated and resoldered.

 Full functionality was restored (See testing Video)
