Customer's Fault Description
When the batteries are inserted in the hand controller, the unit turns on (light on the hand controller) and continually drives the fire to the full on position. The unit will not operate or allow you to turn the fire down or off
This fireplace remote arrived safely with its corresponding receiver.
Initial testing revealed that the receiver was not responding to the signal from the remote. Also signs a battery spillage were present in the battery compartment.
The problem was due to corrosion from the spilage that was shorting out the 6volt power line.
This was cleaned up and the battery terminals were repaired (corrosion had set in on the terminals which would have caused future problems if left)
Full functionality was restored (see testing video)
