Customer's Fault Description
None of the buttons appear to work. It is not sending out a signal ( I have tested it with my phone camera) although a red indicator light illuminates.

 

This SMEG remote arrived safely and first testing showed that the handset did illuminate but there was no infra red signal.

Upon opening there were slight signs of print corrosion so a full continuity test was carried out but no problem could be found with the print.

It was concluded that the culprit was the main I.C. that was at fault. Sadly this ic is not available as a spare and therefore has deemed this remote beyond repair.
