THE INFRA RED LIGHT CAME ON WITHOUT ANY BUTTONS BEING PRESSED. IT WILL NOT GO OFF. ON PRESSING ANY BUTTON THE LIGHT REMAINS ON. PRESSING ANY BUTTON HAS NO EFFECT ON THE CONTROL OF THE AMP. I HAVE REMOVED THE BATTERIES AND REPLACED THEM AFTER 1 HOUR AND THEN OVERNIGHT. IT MAKES NO DIFFEERENCE

 

This Yamaha remote arrived safely and upon first testing there was only the red led illuminating and there was no response from any button press / switch slide and also the LCD display was blank

 Upon opening the remote there was signs of either a battery leakage or liquid spillage (see image).  Some of the print was showing some corrosion. The board was cleaned up with alcohol and then the culprit was found.  There was a hairline crack in one track of the print.  This was reworked and full functionality was restored.
