not working att all replaced battery still not working looks as tho it has been soldered before


This tecalemit remote control arrived well packaged.  On first inspection there was a button missing from the side of the handset as well as the battery lead was showing signs of wear.

The controller was not illuminating or sending out an infra red signal at all.

Upon opening the remote there were various signs of poorly soldered and "pasted" joints all around the PCB.

All of the joints were reworked and the print reworked but sadly function was not restored.  A full component check showed that all readable components were within working parameters.  I t was therefore concluded that the problem lay with one of the 2 main i.c.s which are not available as spares which has deemed this remote beyond repair.
