Customer's Fault Description
The remote does not work at all. The batteries have been changed but still no response. On changing the batteries, there was noticeable heat from the remote control. the batteries were therefore removed and these were very warm as well.

 

This remote arrived safely.  Upon adding a power source a recreation of the heating up was not noticed.

When the handset was opened a circuit test was carried out to find a short circuit which could have been causing the overheating.  None of the regular components were reading suspect, this sadly has led to the conclusion that the fault lies with one of the tiny surface mount processors which are not available as spares.

 

This has rendered this repair not possible.
