Batteries have leaked as this had been in my car for a while so the springs where the batteries connect to have also rusted

 

This Alpine in car remote control arrived safely.  Initial inspection revealed that the battery terminals were corroded due to a leakage.

This leakage was cleaned up and a replacement terminal fitted. the leakage had caused some corrosion on the main board.

Unfortunately when powered up the only power sign was the red LED was illuminated but no other function could be activated.  This is due to a fault with the main processor caused by the leakage.  Sadly this IC is not available as a spare which has deemed this repair not possible
