Customer's Fault Description
The receiving unit which powers the gas valve ( On/Off/up/down )has stopped responding to the remote controller ) New batteries in both controller and receiver
This Gazco remote and receiver arrived safely. Initial testing revealed that the handset was transmitting fine yet the receiver was showing no signs of receiving a signal.
When opening the receiver a couple of the battery terminals showed signs of a battery leakage (crystals had formed over the contacts and signs of corrosion were showing)
The fault itself was caused by dry joint on the main board on the power cable (probably caused by the battery terminal leakage), this was resoldered, the leakage cleaned up and full functionality was restored.
