This Paragon remote control arrived safely.  First inspection showed that the battery cover was missing.

When a power source was added there were 2 buttons not making contact as per the customers fault description.

Upon opening the handset there was some contamination found on the print (see image below), this was cleaned up and the buttons replaced, full functionality was restored.
