Mirtek Remote Repair Details
This remote and receiver arrived safely and was found to be non functioning on the receiver part, the remote tested ok and was sending the infra red signal required.
Upon opening the receiver the battery compartment had signs of a previous battery leakage as there was contamination around the terminals. The power from the terminals was reading a very low 2.9 volts instead of the 5.5volts required, this was due to the contamination and also a corroded power lead.
A replacement battery compartment was fitted. The power leads had signs of a previous soldering attempt and also there was some solder splash across one of the surface mount resistors. This was cleaned up and functionality was restored.
