Back off faulty buttons-can't find replacement suitable for my TV Seems to need cover off a certain amount to work!

 

This RM Series remote arrived safely, first inspection showed that the battery cover was missing and the back was loose at one end.

On powering the handset there was no function at all and it did not register any button press.

When the controller was opened the problem became clear. There was a contamination around the button array which was shorting out various contacts.  This was cleaned up and the PCB given an alcohol bath to remove any contaminants and full functionality was restored.
