Customer's Fault Description
Both remote controls fail to respond to any inputs when a button is pressed. On one, the light illuminates for a very short time on its own once the battery is removed.
This Bed remote arrived as a set of 2 similar remotes.
The handset was not transmitting and infra red signal on any button press. Upon opening the remote the problem became apparent. There was a liquid contamination all over the button array (see image below).
This contamination was cleaned up and also a few suspect joints were resoldered. This did restore the Infra Red signal transmission. The red visible LED however was not illuminating, this was replaced but still the problem persisted, this was found to be a issue with one of the main I.C.s but does not effect functionality.
