NO RESPONSE TO ANY FUNCTION FROM REMOTE. NO BEAM FROM REMOTE.

 

This Dimplex fireplace handset arrived safely, on powering the handset no radio signal could be read.

When the remote was opened a temporary signal was obtained.  When checking voltages on the board it was found that the power was dropping intermittently.

A continuity flex test on the power wires revealed that there was a break on one of the leads, this was due to lead crimpage in the battery compartment, both power leads were replaced and full functionality was restored.
