Customer's Fault Description
Red light comes on but fails to operate the garage door. A second unit still operates the door so I have concluded the fault remains with this hand set.
This garage door remote arrived safely with a battery still fitted. Initial inspection showed that the handset was illuminating when a button was pressed.
A common issue with these handsets is the encoding array (the blue block with switches along it) can become tarnised on its contacts and cause intermittent problems.
This array was cleaned using switch cleaner and once retested the handset was found to be transmitting a strong radio signal. It is recomended that hte customer check the switch array with the other working remote to ensue the switch positions are in the same configuration.
