Customer's Fault Description
Battery acid has leaked and solidified around connectors, preventing battery power reaching the circuit board.
This fireplace remote and receiver arrived safely. First inspection confirmed that there had indeed been a battery leakage in the receiver which had corroded many of the terminals.
Luckily the leakage had not spread internally onto the main board therefore a replacement battery compartment was fitted and full functionality was restored.
