Customer's Fault Description
Remote doesn't work at all. I've put brand new batteries in and it doesn't connect. I had not been used for a number of years previously.
This Sony handset arrived safely, on testing the remote it was confirmed that no infra red signal was being transmitted.
The remote was opened (due to the age of the handset the casing had become brittle therefore there was a splinter off the case when forcing it open that had to be glued back on, see image below. This does not affect functionality).
The fault was due to a crack in the print near the IR led. The print was bridged and full functionality was restored.
