Customer's Fault Description
Remote is for use in controlling fire, both heat and effect.
After inserting new batteries remote is still totally "dead". No red light on tip illuminating when attempting to use. Fire working O.K. on manual both heat and effect.
This fireplace remote control arrived safely and on initial inspection it was found that 2 of the battery terminals were corroded probably due to a battery leakage.
When the handset was opened it was found that the corrosion was stopping the power from getting to the main PCB. this was cleaned up and the terminals re-coated and full functionality was restored
