Not working with control unit even after new batteries inserted. Control unit works if used manually

 

This Bose remote arrived safely.  On adding a power source there was a signal being transmitted on each button press as per normal functionality.  The handset was opened to check for internal problems that may cause an intermittent problem but no issues were located.

 

It was therefore concluded that this handset is working and the problem may well lay with the receiver itself.
