Black wire connecting to battery has come out.

 

This handset arrived safely.  On first inspection the battery cable was indeed broken, this was replaced and then a second fault was noticed.

When powered the remote would only respond to the bottom 2 button presses.  This was due to the top 2 buttons being faulty, these were replaced and full functionality was restored.
