Led flash on remote when pressing buttons but no response from other side box There is light button works to Only look like no communication

 

This Amp remote control arrived safely and on initial powering was found to be illuminating on various button presses but was inconsistent in sending an infra red signal.

On opening the handset there was a slight contamination found on the PCB (See image), this was shorting various components and keypads.

This contamination was cleaned off and also a suspect dry joint was resoldered on the IR LED.  When tested again and infra red signal was being transmitted as normal operation.
