Customer's Fault Description
No button presses at all recognised by main unit. Was working fine but has been stored & unused for 12 months (in dry, safe conditions indoors). Main unit works fine but remote just not working.
This remote control arrived safely and on initial inspection it was noticed that there were marks on either side of the remote due to a previous attempt at opening.
On adding a power source was confirmed to not be sending an IR signal on any button press.
When opened it was noticed that the PCB itself was curved due to time related stress. This was causing a few joints to split and open circuit, these OC's were repaired and fixing pads were added to prevent further bending of the board.
