Does not operate the electric fire despite new batteries.

 

This electric fire remote arrived safely, on adding a power source it wsa confirmed that no signal was being transmitted on any button press.

On opening the control no immediate issue could be found but a common problem with these remotes is that the IR LED becomes unstable as well as the crystal oscillator.

Both were replaced and full functionality was restored.
