This remote arrived safely and on powering was confirmed to be non functioning on certain buttons.

Once opened there was noted a contaminant on the main board and also on the button pads.  This was cleaned up which restored some buttons functionality but a few were still sluggish, a conductive pain was applied to the effected buttons and full functionality was restored.
