remote seems totally inop. Ive tried the check aiming it at my iphone but I cant see any life from the bulb. Ive swapped batteries as well. The equipment is a fairly high end American HiFi company, quite rare in the UK.

 

This HiFi remote arrived safely and was found to be non transmitting on any button press.

On opening the controller there was a contamination found around the PCB which was due to a battery leakage.  This was cleaned up but the problem persisted.

Component checks revealed that the IR LED was faulty, this was replaced and full functionality was restored.
